RESOURCES FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH

Kids Helpline: Phone Counselling Service 1800 55 1800. Qualified counsellors at Kids Helpline are available via Webchat, phone or email anytime and for any reason. For some young people connecting with Kids Helpline has been a life-saving experience, while for others it’s about practical help and emotional support at the critical moment they need someone to listen.

Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement: Phone 1800 642 066.

Beyond Blue: Phone 1300 22 4636. Anxiety, depression and suicide prevention support.

Beyond Blue New Access: Mental Health Coaching support. Free and confidential mental health coaching program for anyone feeling stressed or overwhelmed about everyday life issues.

Blackdog Institute: Many programs available, including the myCompass online self-help program.

Feel the Magic: Various programs and virtual camps for children, youth and parents, including healthy living, parent/guardian workshop, family day, and more.

Good Grief: Grief line 24/7 online or via phone 1300 845 745 

NALAG: National Association for Loss and Grief NSW Inc. Phone 02 6882 9222. Free grief support service across NSW, delivered by a team of trained volunteers. 

National Centre for Grief and Bereavement: Phone 1300 654 556. Dedicated to helping children and their families rebuild their lives after grief. Self referral to access counselling and support, or referral from NSW Police Legacy.

Reachout for parents: Support for parents that works for you. One-on-one support via phone, self-help content or community forums.

Standby – Support after suicide: Phone 1300 727 247. Australia’s leading suicide postvention program dedicated to assisting people and communities bereaved or impacted by suicide.
