December 2022
This year has been the year for gathering together again, for coming together in person to remember mates, and celebrating the unique bonds of the Police Family.
For the first time since the pandemic hit, the full splendour of the Wall to Wall Ride for Remembrance roared out across the country, with motorbike riders from all around the nation converging on the National Police Memorial in Canberra for a solemn ceremony of remembrance.
Our Chair Det Supt Donna McCarthy APM took part as a passenger for her first ride in the big event, and described to the NSWPL team in vivid detail the emotional impact as the procession entered Canberra, and rode as one towards the National Memorial.
She was joined on the ride by long-time event organiser and COO of NSW Police Legacy Kellie Cooper, riding for the the last time in this capacity, as well as ex-Chairs Gary Merryweather and Paul Bousfield.
It was a coming together to be celebrated, and a gathering of memories that truly honoured those departed too soon.
