Wall to Wall 2024

December 2024

The Wall to Wall Ride got off to a chilly but fine start on the morning of 14 September, with hundreds of motorcyclists riding out from the Police Wall of Remembrance in The Domain to the National Police Memorial in Canberra. The ride is held every year as a way of honouring and remembering Police Officers taken too soon, and this year’s ceremony had an extra poignancy, with the tragic death of Senior Sergeant Brendan Wiblen of the Queensland Police Service ringing all too closely.

As always, the riders carried the Commissioner's Baton – a ceremonial baton that this year contained the name of Sergeant Peter Stone, who died tragically on New Year's Day 2023 while saving his son from drowning. The ride began with a ceremony at the Police Wall, with a speech from NSW Commissioner Karen Webb APM, and ended with a service at the National Memorial, where riders from all around the country remembers those taken too soon. Funds raised from this important event support Police Legacies all around the country.
