November 2020
Like everything else, Police Remembrance Day was very different this year. Normally we would accompany Police Legatees to the Wall of Remembrance and stand in solidarity and support as the memory of their loved ones was honoured. Normally there would be thousands of people massed in solemn remembrance. In these new normal times, however, the ceremony held at the Wall was a small and private one, attended only by the Governor, the Premier, the Minster and the Shadow Minister for Police, Commissioner Fuller, and the family of the late Aaron Vidal – father Chief Inspector David Vidal, mother Jose Vidal, and fiancée Jess Loh. We look forward to coming together next year to honour the service and sacrifices made in protecting our community. We remember. We will never forget.
