It was an absolutely huge night at the 2018 Police Boxing Gala Fight Night! With thirty fighters jumping into the ring over the course of the evening, the UK's Blue Glove Boxing Academy giving it their all for the mother country, the hugely-anticipated match of Mark Bouris Vs Gary "The Gatekeeper" Jubelin, and MC Colin Moore revving up the crowd all night, the adrenaline hardly a chance to drop below peak.
As far as we're concerned, everybody who got into the ring to support us was a winner, but for those of you more concerned with the technicalities of "winning", we can report that Mark Bouris ended his never-beaten streak in a thrilling fight with Gary Jubelin. Congratulations to "The Gatekeeper"!
As for the UK versus Australia question, it was a close run thing, with the first two bouts going to the Aussies and the second two to the English. The decider match, a dazzling display from each fighter, was taken out by Jim Milward, leading to victory for the UK team. Promises have already been made by the Australian team to head across to Staffordshire next year to get the cup back!
