Kids' Adventure Camp - Jan 2025

March 2025

As always, the January Adventure camp for our 8-18 year-old Police Legatees delivered on its name, with more than 40 kids coming in from all around the state to spend a glorious, adventurous, activity-filled week at the Lake Ainsworth Sport & Recreation Centre in Lennox Head. Rock climbing, water sliding, singing, dancing, painting, swimming, Movie Worlding, Wet-and-Wilding, and sunrise walks on the beach were just the tip of the iceberg. Phew!

One of the particular highlights for our legatees was the police activity day put on by Richmond Police District and specialist commands. The legatees loved the experience of interacting with the officers and their specialist equipment and learning more about the profession. Huge thank you to Superintendent Scott Tanner and the officers of Richmond PD, as well as officers from Forensics, Traffic & Highway Patrol, Marine Rescue, and the Crash Investigation Unit, for giving their time, efforts, and energy – in some cases on their days off – to make our kids’ experience extra special.

On another day the legatees were surprised and thrilled when some of the biggest stars of the Parramatta Eels dropped by to chat, sign autographs, and pose for the all-important selfies. Each legatee was given a training shirt, not to mention a treasured memory. Huge thanks to Craig Sultana for helping to make this all happen, and to Ryan Matterson, Junior Paulo, Mitchell Moses, J’maine Hopgood, Will Penisini, Shaun Lane, Zac Lomax, Jack Williams, Dylan Brown, Josh Addo-Carr, Joash Papalii, and Jason Ryles, for absolutely thrilling our young Police Legatees, and acting with true credit to their team. Thank you all.
