Fundraising Updates Aug 2019

August 2019

We’re biased. We acknowledge that. But we think our fundraisers are some of the most amazing people in the world. Here’s a quick wrap up of what’s been happening, and what’s coming up.

At the end of June the Marconi Cycling Club once again hosted a the Remembrance Cup Cycling Classic, a spectacular day of racing and family entertainment that raised more than $5,000 for Police Legacy. Our Chair was on hand to congratulate the winners and place getters, and the Police Association also helped out with a sausage & sugar stall.  (And speaking of cycling, the final figures are now in for the Remembrance Bike Ride, and more than $97,000 was raised by those dedicated riders. Another incredible result!)

As mentioned in the Chair's Report Phillip Mounce-Stephens is still going strong around the Mount Panorama racetrack in Bathurst, raising funds and raising our profile – both things we love! And coming up on 11 August, a dedicated crew are running on our behalf in the City2Surf. You can support our runners (and support us!) through their website. And one last major sporting event – the GWS AFL game on 18 August, where a portion of every ticket sold will come to Police Legacy. Check their website for details!

If you want to find out more about, or donate to, any of the fundraisers we have running, go to the Events page on our website. Currently there are appeals running in support of Police Officers and their families including: Kate Stephens, Damien Knowles, Matthew Rees, Belinda Johns, and Aabriti Adhikari. And very soon we’ll have details of the “Taree Bricks” fundraiser – an exciting new initiative that we hope to see rolled out across NSW.
