Brisbane Water Paddle
For the sixth year running, some 30 people set off to paddle from Ettalong foreshore in memory of Sergeant Dick Whittaker, Senior Constable Gordy Wilson and Senior Constable Chris Thornton. Arriving at Gosford sailing club, they were welcomed by police, the public, and the media, as well as the tastiest snags of their lives! Thanks to the organisers and the participants, more than $3,000 was raised for our police family.

Do the 5
On Sunday 19 August, the inaugural “Do The 5 for Police Legacy” fun run was held along the Newcastle foreshore, raising more than $5,000 for our police family. Despite literal gale-force winds, the day was a great success, with nearly 200 people participating in the run and nearly 2,000 friends and family visiting the police displays, events, and BBQ held afterwards! Congratulations to the winners (Harriet Greentree in the women’s section, and Lee Williams in the men’s), and a huge thanks to the organisers and to everyone involved, including the Marine Area Command, PORS, PCYC, Dog Unit, Highway Patrol, Hunter School of Performing Arts, Police Association of NSW, Police Bank, and our Police Legacy volunteers who always give so selflessly on these occasions.
