On 2 October 2025, 23 legatees hit the track at Sydney Motorsport Park for our annual Defensive Driver Program, run with Driving Solutions and Huntingwood Highway Patrol, with some legatees flying in from as far away as Ballina, Tamworth, and Port Macquarie to attend.
The evening was all about building confidence behind the wheel and learning practical safety tips. From understanding ABS braking and how speed affects stopping distances to checking tyre pressure and setting up mirrors and seats correctly, the program covered it all. There were plenty of revelations, as participants realised how even things like a small change in posture can make a big difference.
And it wasn’t just theory! Legatees got hands-on experience on the skidpan, testing their skills in a safe, controlled environment. There were laughs, a few squeals, and lots of learning as everyone tackled real-world scenarios.

Surveys showed a big boost in confidence, both in driving and car maintenance. And while we learned a few lessons ourselves (next time: warmer clothes!), the night was a huge success.
Programs like this are all about giving legatees the tools to stay safe and feel confident on the road. We can’t wait to do it all again next year!
