BACKUP for Life Update: Feb 2020

February 2020

The Western Sydney Coffee Crunch (WSCC) kicked off 2020 with a get-together at the Coffee Club, East Bank Jamisontown on Wednesday 22 January. It was great to get around and speak to everyone, and I especially enjoyed meeting a few new former officers who have been assisted through a number of the BACKUP for Life Services. It makes such a difference to meet our former police in person and to have a few minutes to talk over a coffee amongst friends. I love hearing the positive stories of those former police who have struggled with the adjustment of civilian life and who are now doing well, and in particular reconnecting with their former work colleagues. I wanted to especially thank Charlie Dagostino of the 1970s Cadets for organising the morning tea, and for his constant care and support of our police family. It was also great to see one of our BACKUP for Life Mentors, Peter Gould, in attendance. I look forward to attending a number of these coffee catch-ups throughout the year.
