In July, a graduation ceremony of a different kind was held for "Foster", a General Purpose Police Dog named in honour of Senior Constable Kelly Foster VA, who died heroically in 2021 while trying to rescue a drowning canyoneer in the Blue Mountains.

This issue we extend a warm welcome to Tegan Kanard, our new Community Support Manager. Some of you may have met her already, but if not, we’re sure you’ll see her around at one of our events – she has made it her mission to get at least one Social Connection Lunch in each area by the end of the year!

As has become tradition at the end of summer, the Sydney Metro 1000 turned the go-kart track at Picton into a buzzing nest of friendly competition and camaraderie. We thank absolutely everybody who spent the months leading up to the competition fundraising for the Police Family, and we are especially grateful for NSWPL Champion Sergeant Damian Leemon, who continues to take this event from strength to strength.

What a heartfelt, spectacular, sensational night we had at the 22nd Blue Ribbon Ball! What a privilege to join with everyone in our moment of remembrance and our moment of celebration. What an honour to be joined by everyone from The Governor, The Commissioner, and The Minister; the NSW Police Officers showing their support; our Corporate Supporters; our Community Supporters; and perhaps most importantly of all, our Police Legatees!

Our 22nd Blue Ribbon Ball honouring the memory of Senior Constable Glenn McEnallay VA was magnificent. The NSW Police Legacy team ran an exceptional event, truly honouring the Police Family and the bravery of our passed Police Officers. And all the key roles were held by legatees!
