In October we played host to a meeting of the Retired Police Association, and had the pleasure of being introduced to Gwen Martin, a trailblazing policewoman who joined the NSW Police Force in 1960 - one of three women in a class of ninety.

During the month of October we had a great rollup of former and transitioning officers attend the Holistic Health and Wellbeing workshop, as well as our Career Confidence workshop, run in the NSWPL Boardroom.

On 27 October, as part of the Panorama Punish, our solo superstar Phillip Mounce-Stephens finished his own personal epic – 161 laps of the Mount Panorama race track, on foot. 1,000 kilometres! Phil’s been chipping away at this for most of this year, raising more than $6,000, and raising the profile of NSW Police Legacy right across the region. Phillip, we salute you, and your loyal canine companion too!

At the end of October, we had the privilege of attending the funeral of Frances Josephine Pirie, someone who will truly always have a place in the heart of the Police Family.

"The time has come for me move on from the organisation after an amazing six years. I am moving on to a new role with Girl Guides Australia's national office and though I am excited about a new challenge I will miss everyone at Police Legacy."
