National Police Legacy Day

17 June 2025

We’re thrilled to have you with us for the start of a new tradition: 17 June 2025 is the first National Police Legacy Day. Police Legacies have been supporting Police Families across Australia for 54 years, and now we are coming together nationally to honour this legacy of care. On 17 June this year - and all years going forward - we will honour all police who serve our community, and the families who uphold their memory with strength and pride.

Chair's Report June 2025

I am pleased to report we had the biggest attendance ever at our 23rd Blue Ribbon Ball at Darling Harbour on 29 March 2025. Carnival was the theme, with a magician, laughing clowns, the NSW Police Big Band, the photo booth and some great dancing. Legatee Warren Proops gave a very moving speech about the loss of his dad. You would have all been very proud of him and the whole Proops family, who represented with great courage the best of all things NSW Police Legacy.

Sydney Metro 1000 - 2025

On 7 March, the Sydney Metro 1000 lit up the Picton Karting Track once again, continuing a 5-year-strong tradition that’s been roaring from success to success. It was a glorious day of racing.

Can you believe we are in 2025! The 21st Century is flying by very swiftly. I hope your year has been peaceful so far. Ours has been action packed. We kicked off in early January with the Hawkesbury Police Area Command Champions running a fundraising sausage sizzle at the local PCYC. Our Police Legacy Champions are in every command. They are police employees hand-selected by the Commander to represent NSW Police Legacy.
