Kokoda Trek 2020: Expressions of Interest

For a number of years, a group of NSW Police Officers has undertaken an annual hike across the infamous Kokoda Trail in Papua New Guinea. Each year, the Police Officers involved have raised funds to pay for up to six NSW Police Legacy Legatees to accompany them.

We are now inviting expressions of interest from Police Officers (sworn and unsworn), Police Legatees, family and friends, to be a part of this tradition. To be suitable for participation in the 2020 Kokoda Trek you must:

  • Be aware that the trip will be physically demanding and mentally challenging
  • Be prepared to reach a high level of physical fitness prior to the trip
  • Be willing to attend a mandatory information session in the NSW Police Legacy Office, Sydney, on Thursday 14 November 2019
  • Attend mandatory practice hikes as required (approx. 3 with the trek’s official guide)
  • Attend the Annual Kokoda Golf Day – 6 March 2020
  • Be willing to actively fundraise
